Founded by Mindy Parfitt, The Search Party is an ambitious new company committed to bringing emotionally powerful and aesthetically rigorous productions to Vancouver’s intimate stages.

Drawn to traditional theatre with a modern appeal, the company seeks out original texts that explore the intricacies and contradictions in our human connections and experiences.
The Search Party is inspired by humour, compassion and quality storytelling that highlights the power of voice as it expresses the vulnerabilities and strengths of the human spirit.
We currently find ourselves at a crossroads in history where we are each being asked to examine the ground we stand on and to participate responsibly in conversations with both self and community, about the stories we tell ourselves and the stories we help perpetuate. It is time to recognize the ways in which we impact each other in our commitment to these narratives. It is time to demand transparency and honesty, and it is time to use and trust our own creative voices – to retell old stories anew, to tell the untold stories that have never been heard, and to rewrite those stories that distort power and create hierarchies of privilege.

The Amaryllis
